What are we talking about

Letterpress Workers International Summit (LPW) is an annual meeting of letterpress designers from Europe and Latin America. LPW is a shortterm artistic residence, open to the public, where people work together on a common theme, sharing their knowledge and experience.
In few words: a physical social network.
Lpw started in Milan in 2012, curated by Officina Tipografica Novepunti.
Since 2014, it has been held at Leoncavallo S.p.a.
Theme of this year is Popular dance and music. Throughout the day, more than30 designers will be printing their musical traditions, at night they will be dancing them.
Join us, take part to the workshops and conferences or just come over to have a look around and have a drink!
Your life will not be the same.

LAB for kids

Dance is movement, expression, color, rhythm and fun. The same happens in typography and in his heart called alphabet. The laboratory offers a physical and mental space where the child can experiment and play freely with movable wood types.
The letters are signs, drawings that allow us both to compose words, and to create new forms, images and worlds related to them: types and print become a new kind of expression.

The book

In 2014, during the 3rd edition of Letterpress Workers, we presented The experience, a book/catalogue of the first two editions of Lpw.

This year the project turns a bit. Starting from the main topics of 2014, Borders, we decided to do not make another catalogue of prints, focused only about letterpress.
As designers, and people who live in the real world, it is important that our work could contribute in creating a better future for everyone.

Borders is a quite difficult topic but, in this times, very relevant as well.
Inside the book we tried to speak about what we, as human beings, have in common and why it is wrong to see just our differences.

Using lettepress, of course!

Regular edition (350 copies)
catalogue 22x22cm, 36 pages, 4 colours, offset and letterpress

Deluxe edition (120 copies)
catalogue 22x22cm, 36 pages, 4 colours, offset and letterpress
+ 20 original letterpress prints, 25x25cm, from all around Europe
+ silkscreened box
